Paris, London, Milan, and then Pakuranga Park.

Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani once said: “Elegance is not about being noticed, it’s about being remembered”. Unforgettable class and elegance were certainly on display during the fashion parade that Pakuranga Park hosted on the 17th of January.

Clothing store Sophie Pink organized the parade with the involvement of four village residents as models. Even if it was their first time on the catwalk, the models showed a great deal of style and naturality in showcasing all kinds of outfits. The parade included comfortable and light tunics to wear on the long and hot summer days, shirts with modern and fashionable prints, and chic and elegant gowns for a sophisticated night out.

The parade was very successful with more than 50 residents attending the event (when New Zealand was still in Orange). The show was a great opportunity for the residents to see how comfortable and appropriate the fashion styles were, in a very relaxed and fun atmosphere.

Following the parade, the attendees had the opportunity to purchase garments from a range of 280 styles on display, onsite, all discounted 70% OFF retail prices. With all sizes available, the prices ranged from $19 to $59.

It’s not the first time that Pakuranga Park has hosted a Sophie Pink Parade and other villages are considering hosting similar events.
