The cutest, cheekiest and funniest pets at Real Living

Benny is one of the most popular pets at Epsom Village. His owner Gail finds it very difficult to take him for a walk, as they will be constantly stopped by their neighbours wanting to give him a pat. Benny is happy to play his part and say hello to everybody, and then go back to the comfort of his own apartment.

Being so adorable, it was easy for Benny to become one of the winners of Real Living’s 2022 Pet Competition.

Living at one of Real Living’s villages is a treat for many cats, specially the ones who love to explore the manicured gardens that surround the residences, and sometimes sneak into the communal areas. Coco is another of the winners of this year’s Pet Competition and she’s loving his social retirement life.

Coco is so extroverted that she’s been known to sneak into the Lounge at Happy Hour to meet the residents.

The saying goes that owners and pets sometimes have the same attributes, so it comes without a surprise that some of the friendliest pets have also the friendliest owners. Mike and Marilynn are two of the most amicable and kindest residents at Pakuranga Park. Their dog Shadow is a rescue dog who loves attention so it was meant to be that she would also win a trophy in Real Living’s Pet Competition.

Mike and Marilynn love spending time with Shadow on the terrace of their spacious villa.

Organising a Pet Competition has been lots of fun for the residents, who have shared the cutest pictures of their pets and the most hilarious anecdotes from their cheeky companions. Living in a retirement village means that those pets not only enrich their owner’s lives but they also brighten the days of so many other residents.

Louie and Izzy are pure bred Ragdolls who love playing tricks on each other.

Cats and dogs are normally very sociable animals so it’s quite normal that they thrive in retirement communities like Real Living. Some of them even enjoy reading the newsletter!
