Coffee and Smiles on Wheels

It's a well-known fact that “coffee and friends make the perfect blend,” and Remuera Gardens embraces this sentiment wholeheartedly. Every Friday, the “Coffee Guy” rolls in with his van to serve up delicious barista-made coffee to both residents and staff.

Sanji is the new owner of the “Coffee Guy”, a business he bought five months ago: "I bought this business in May 2024, driven by a desire for more happiness and flexibility in my life. What I enjoy most is creating an unforgettable experience for my customers by offering a diverse menu, top-notch coffee equipment, and even some cookies on the side. Through my passion for coffee, I aim to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that keeps people coming back."

Sanji has already built a loyal clientele, including the village's men's club members, who gather every Friday to discuss upcoming trips while enjoying his delicious coffee. Each week, Sanji takes their orders and delivers their coffee to the Community Lounge at Beattie Lodge, a perfect spot with its sunny windows and inviting piano area. Sanji shares: "Remuera Gardens is my final stop each week, which allows me to take my time and make each coffee without any rush. The staff here are fantastic—we often have great conversations and share ideas. The men’s group is especially kind and always willing to lend a hand. Honestly, Remuera Gardens is my favorite spot to make hot drinks."

Meanwhile, outside the coffee van provides a great chance for residents and staff to socialise, as evidenced by Aaron, the village’s talented gardener, chatting cheerfully with a resident.

The coffee van is just one of the many perks that make living at Remuera Gardens exceptional. The village features a heated indoor pool, a spa, a gym, a library, and a standout 45-seat tiered cinema that rivals professional theaters. Visitors are also impressed by the beautifully maintained gardens, which showcase several hundred species of trees and plants.
